Ryan Phillippe by Ex Alexis Knapp's Side While She Gave Birth

Is it too early to congratulate Ryan Phillippe? The actor's ex-girlfriend, 21-year-old So Undercover star Alexis Knapp, gave birth on Friday to an eight-pound baby girl named Kai. A source confirms to People that Phillippe, 36, was by Knapp's side in the delivery room -- although he reportedly is still waiting for the results of a paternity test.

Phillippe and Knapp dated on and off for a few months in 2010. In March of 2011, the media discovered that the model-actress was in her second trimester of pregnancy. Knapp reportedly told her friends that the baby belonged to Phillippe; however, her rep told People that she had "never asked Ryan for any help, nor does she expect it."

Even so, Phillippe seems to have stepped up to the plate, accompanying Knapp to at least one doctor's visit and standing by her side during the birth. He also broke things off with girlfriend Amanda Seyfried in June, which may have freed him up to spend time with his ex. (It may be a coincidence, but the first time Phillippe was spotted with his pregnant ex was about three weeks after his breakup with Seyfried.) It sounds like the actor -- who has two children (daughter Ava, 11, and son Deacon, 7) with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon -- is embracing the unexpected opportunity to be a third-time papa.

And while we're on the topic of surprise fatherhood, rapper and Dancing With the Stars alum Bow Wow has revealed that he has a baby girl. The ex-child star, now 24, announced on his website that he kept his daughter a secret because he was afraid of his fans' reactions.

"I waited so long to tell yall the truth because i was nervous on how yall would look at me," he explains in a blog post. "My lil girl is getting BIG fast. i love every minute of it. She inspires me to go harder. Even made me treat my mother better, its like it made me into a man over night."

He says he has made an effort to keep his daughter Shai away from the media, and that custody has been an issue. "Baby gotta stay with they momma and all dat bull. I hate that! So i have to fly 5 hrs away to see her," he wrote. Though Bow Wow didn't reveal his daughter's age in the post, he tells Us Weekly that his little "blessing" is 3 months old.

Bow Wow also states that his daughter saved him from thoughts of suicide by giving his life a purpose. "God gave me the illest gift of my life," he writes touchingly. And he also brags that he changes diapers: "Aint as bad as I thought hahaha."

How long until Ryan Phillippe starts boasting about his diaper-changing skills? It might take him a few weeks -- he's probably a little rusty!
